Energy released by a far- infrared sauna penetrates deep into muscle tissue. It enhances circulation and thereby promotes oxygenation of body tissues. Like other heat therapies, infrared sauna heat therapy relives muscle aches, pains, stiffness, and muscle spasms. In addition, by stimulating vasodilatation of peripheral blood vessels and enhancing the body’s delivery of oxygen to joints and extremities, it is believed to speed the healing of sprains and strains, thereby relieving pain and reducing the time it takes the body to recover from an injury.

Far Infrared Rays - Part of the Infrared Spectrum
Our sun produces most of its energy output in the infrared spectrum.
Infrared is the band of light we perceive as heat. We cannot see this band of light with the naked eye, but we can feel this type of light in the form of heat.
Infrared rays heat your body, without having to heat the air in-between, through a process called conversion.
The infrared spectrum is divided into 3 segments by wavelengths and is measured in microns.
- Near infrared rays are approximately 0.76 to 1.5 microns;
- Middle infrared rays are approximately 1.5 to 5.6 microns;
- Far infrared rays are approximately 5.6 to 1000 microns.

Only the far infrared rays penetrate organic substances, such as the human body. It penetrates over one and a half inches, to safely and effectively warm your body.
Far Infrared Heat Therapy Saunas vs. a Conventional Saunas
Far infrared rays warm your body directly. They provide in-depth heat at a more pleasant temperature (110-150°F or 43-66°C). The result is significant health benefits in a highly enjoyable and comfortable environment.

A Far Infrared heat therapy sauna directly penetrates one and a half to three inches inside the body. Impurities are pushed out through perspiration using a lower and more comfortable temperature.
Conventional saunas transfer heat by circulating hot air, thereby warming your body from your head down. They need high air temperatures to pull impurities from the body. The hot air can be uncomfortable and stifling and may result in decreased time in the sauna. This could result in reduced benefit of the sauna treatment.
